Common questions
How do scratch cards work, and who keeps the money?
Your school creates card batches each term. Parents buy online through Paystack or pick up a printed card at the school. Each card carries a PIN that unlocks that term's report card. All of the revenue goes to your school — schoolsio takes no percentage of card sales. Paystack's own transaction charge applies to online purchases, as it does on any payment you collect.
How is the platform priced?
Per active student, per term, on whichever plan you choose. Add-ons like payroll, fees management or the communication hub are billed separately — some per student, some per staff member, some per parent. The pricing page has a calculator that works out your term cost at your real headcount.
How long is the free trial?
One full term on the Pro plan, with no card required. You get report cards, parent and student portals, scratch cards, the timetable builder, the white-label app and your AI-generated school website. At the end of the trial you choose a plan, or walk away.
Do I really get a school website for free?
Yes, on every plan. It goes live at yourschool.schoolsio.cloud the moment you sign up, with a homepage, about page, news and blog, admissions page, gallery, events and contact details. Custom domains are supported on Pro and Enterprise.
What does "white-label" mean exactly?
The mobile app, the portals, fee receipts, email notifications and the school website all carry your school's name, logo and colours. The app is published under your school's name. Parents and students never see the schoolsio brand unless you choose to show it.
Can I change plan or add features mid-term?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated over the days left in the term, so you only pay for the part of the term you use. Add-ons work the same way. Downgrades are held for a short lock period after an upgrade.
Is my school's data secure?
Data is stored per school and per agency. Passwords are hashed, sessions are token-based with expiry, and your Paystack credentials are stored encrypted. Files sit on Google's infrastructure. We do not share school data with third parties.
